Steven Lee Fields

Steven Lee Fields, age 40, of Cave Junction, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 in Grants Pass.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Illinois Valley Funeral Directors with Steven’s uncle Dennis Kennedy officiating.

He was born October 10, 1968 in Grants Pass to Richard and Kathleen Kennedy Fields. He attended local schools, graduating from Illinois Valley High School in 1987 and later graduating from Artistic Hair Design School. He worked as a chef at Brothers Restaurant in Ashland for five years. While living in Ashland, he was a runner and ran for 1,350 miles. He was also a chef for Olive Garden in Redding, California.

He was especially proud of his Native American heritage.

Survivors include his mother, Kathleen Kennedy Fields of Cave Junction; his brother, Edward Fields of Cartagena, Spain; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
