Sharon Marie Gates

Sharon Marie Gates, age 70, of Grants Pass, died April 18, 2021 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.
Sharon was born to Jean M. (Beck) Thomas and Bob E. Thomas in Grants Pass and raised in Williams, Oregon. In 1967, Sharon graduated with honors from Grants Pass High School; and graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a Bachelor of Science. In 1971, Sharon married Gary and they had two children. Sharon’s career as a Certified Medical Technologist included positions at Southern Oregon Medical Center and Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.
Sharon was an avid golfer, jogger, and world traveler. She loved a good book, the company of her family, and a glass of local wine.
She was a member of the Rogue Valley Wind Ensemble, Ashland City Band and the Grants Pass Golf Club.
Sharon is survived by her husband Gary Gates of Grants Pass; son Greg Gates of California; daughter Holly Gates of Coos Bay, Oregon; sister Lani Morgan; and seven grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob Thomas Jr.
