Sandra Jewell Foster was born on June 4, 1948 in Jellico, Tennessee, and passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Monday August 9, 2021 in Grants Pass, Oregon while surrounded by family and close friends.
The nickname “Sandy” was fondly used by family and close friends who knew her well. She married and made her home in Glendale, Oregon where she raised her daughter, Leslie, and three sons Nathan, Samuel, and Curtis. She cared for and loved all nine of her grandchildren: Miles, Caden, Ryan, Ethan, Elijah, Chloe, Jakob, Peyton and Wesson.
Sandy earned her Massage Therapy certificate from Rogue Community College in Grants Pass. She built her private practice as a Massage Therapist over the course of 28 years, genuinely enjoying helping others to feel better through massage therapy.
Sandy enjoyed the outdoors and would take every opportunity to spend time at the coast. She loved music, playing the piano, and was a gifted gardener. Her passion was massage therapy and took the time to self-educate on subjects related to health and healing. She was a devoted Christian, delighted in bible scripture, and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness congregation in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Mom was fiercely independent and worked tirelessly to make a good home for her children.
Sandy is preceded in death by her father, Maynard Troxell, and brother, Wayne Troxell. She is survived by her mother, Bernice Orr, and brother, George Orr, both residing in the Roseburg area.
Sandy’s memorial services will be conducted via Zoom.
