We regret to announce the passing of Bob Reitter, who left us on February 17, 2026 at the age of 74. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert Wayne Reitter was born on July 4, 1951, in Santa Monica, California. He spent his early years in California until the age of 20, when he joined the United States Navy, serving honorably for eight years, including service in Vietnam, a posting in Hawaii and Bremerton, Washington. In 1975, he married Kathleen L. Reitter (Bowen), with whom he had one child, Louisa James (Reitter). Following his military service, Bob resided in Alaska for over twenty years, primarily in the small town of Tok. In 2001, he relocated to Oregon, where he met and married his current wife, Kathy Highley Reitter. Bob lived, worked, and retired in Grants Pass, Oregon where he remained until his passing.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Highley Reitter; daughter Louisa James (Jim James) stepsons Jeff HIghley, Bob Highley grandchildren Trinity James and Demitri James, Zarriana Highley, Zander Highley, Jocelin Highley; brothers Alan Reitter and Jeff Reitter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edwina Reitter (Jones) and father, Robert McAllister Reitter.
