Robert Angelo Rubio

Robert Angelo Rubio, 80, of Williams, Oregon passed peacefully on January 31, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.

Robert was born to Angelo and Lucille Rubio on May 15th, 1942, in Knightsen, CA. He held many titles in his life, farmer, artist, soldier, actor, dancer, musician, collector, martial arts instructor, motorcycle rider and joke teller, but his favorites were husband, father and grandfather.

Robert attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA from 1963 to 1965 where he found a passion for art. He was drafted into the army in 1965, and was sent to Vietnam. Upon his return he served as a pall bearer at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. He met the love of his life Jane Roach in 1973. They moved from the bay area to Southern Oregon in 1976 and were married on June 26, 1977. He retired from Siskiyou Buckle Co. in 2006, and spent his retirement serving his friends, neighbors, church and community with humility, love and compassion. We will remember him for what really counts, his adoration for Jesus, his commitment to always put others first and the strength it took to be our daily hero.

Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Rubio, son, Jason Rubio, and granddaughter, Lucia Rubio. He is survived by his wife, Jane Rubio, daughter, Wren Rubio, brother, Richard Rubio (Cathy), grandsons, Christopher Rubio-Hackenberg and Giovanni Rubio Nuño, and his nieces and nephews who adored him.
