Riott Mitchell was eight months old when he unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass.

On June 14, 2021 he was born Riott Carl-Patrick Mitchell at Three Rivers Family Birth Center to Jordain Mitchell and Justin Laurie, with Matt Black as Riott’s Dad. In the short time that Riott was on this earth, he was so pure and full of life, and made an unforgettable impression on our lives. He was a happy, healthy baby boy, so full of wonder, hope, promise, and innocence.

Riott loved to watch and listen to music videos. He would pull himself up and stand looking at the TV with a big smile on his face, and then he would do his little baby-dance. He was just starting to learn the difference between day and night and how different everything looked outside. Riott always had a smile, and when his mommy walked into the room, Riott’s eyes lit up and he would get the biggest smile ever, because he loved his mommy’s voice and cuddles. Riott knew love was all he wanted and needed.

Riott is survived by his mother and father Jordain Mitchell and Justin Laurie; his dad Matt Black; brothers Aiden Ward & Lyric Mitchell Laurie; grandparents Mike Mitchell, Stacy Laurie, Carolan & Arnold Black; great-grandmother Sue Deadmond all of Grants Pass; nanna Sherry Wood of Wilderville; many aunts and uncles including James Laurie, Jay & Stephanie Watts all of Grants Pass, and Jayleen Black Boyd of Washington.

Private family services have been held with interment at Wilderville Cemetery in Wilderville, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
