Phyllis Naomi Conner

Phyllis Naomi Conner, age 87, of Grants Pass, Oregon, died June 24, 2023 at her home.

She was born Phyllis Naomi Long on July 26, 1935 in Anthony, Kansas to George and Vivian Long. She moved to Eugene, Oregon in the late 1930s. At age 17, Phyllis met her husband, Wendell David “Windy” Conner, and they married June 22, 1952 in Reno, Nevada. Phyllis and Windy went on to have four children.

The family moved to Grants Pass from Bakersfield, California 50 years ago. She enjoyed being a homemaker, going to rodeos around the West Coast, crocheting, making jewelry, dolls, and listening to her children’s stories. Phyllis also enjoyed being a member of the YMCA.

Survivors include four children, Michael Conner of Tehachapi, California, Catherine Conner-McCoy of Grants Pass, Thomas Conner of Bakersfield, and Robert Conner of Grants Pass; 17 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband and all of her siblings.  

A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m., June 29, 2023 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
