Phillip David Maddox

Oct 4, 1971 — Sep 10, 2026

Phillip David Maddox, age 54, of Gold Hill, died September 10, 2026 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Phill, as his friends and family called him, was born in Las Vegas, NV, on Monday, October 4, 1971 to David Maddox and Judith Schlump. He attended school in Las Vegas from elementary school through high school. He first attended Eldorado High School his freshman and sophomore years. He then transferred over to Southern Nevada Vocational Technical Center, more commonly known as Vo-Tech High School, where he graduated with his high school degree along with his auto body. During his Junior year there, his best friend introduced him to his high school sweetheart.

Phill had several different jobs through high school and after graduation, including grocery bagger, stocker, and recycling maintenance until he finally landed his passion job in auto/diesel mechanics. He did this across multiple states that they lived in, for many years.

Phill married his high school sweetheart Diane on April 3, 1993 in Las Vegas. They have 3 biological sons, Christopher (Amber), Bryan (Danielle), and Zachary (Liz). They also have a Crayon Box of Sons, Chris Carea, Christian Anderson, Drew and Garret Handy and many others whom he dearly loved. They were ALL his sons as far as he was concerned.

Phill has 8 grandchildren. Brixxdyn (12), Acezyn (8), Micaela (7), Noah (4), Charlotte (4), Ashton (3), Cassidy (2) and Rayden who was born exactly one week before he passed.

Along with his wife and children, Phillip also leaves behind his Dad (David), sisters Linda and Heather, brothers David and Christopher, lots of extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mom (Judy) and all his grandparents.

Phill loved tinkering on cars, trucks and almost anything with an engine. He also loved doing handyman work and repairs around the house. He always kept his hands busy doing something. He cherished his family and dogs. He also had a thing about collecting anything “dragon” and swords and loved his rock-n-roll music which he played as loud as he could get away with!

Though we are all heart broken by Phill's passing at such a young age, his enthusiasm and craziness for life will live on through ALL of his boys (biological and crayon box), his grandchildren, his friends, extended family and everyone he touched in this life.

His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026 at 2:30 pm at the home of his son Zachary in White City.
