Patricia Marie Shafer

Former Cave Junction resident, Patricia Marie Shafer, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Patricia was born February 3, 1931 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Nicholas & Agnes Carras. In 1993 she moved from Chico, California to Cave Junction.

She was a member of St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, David W. Shafer of Washington and Brian L. Shafer and John W. Shafer both of California; three daughters, Deborah Rugg of Cave Junction and Juliann Staley and Mary P. Shafer both of California; a brother, Bud Keeney of California; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Shafer and son, Mark E. Shafer.

A recitation of the rosary will be at 6:30 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Illinois Valley Funeral Directors.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church in Cave Junction with Father Joseph Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Cemetery.
