Pamela Margaret Crothers passed away peacefully at her cherished home in Grants Pass, Oregon, on April 4, 2025, surrounded by the familiar comforts she loved. She was 72.

Born on May 1, 1952, at Queens Hospital in Long Island, New York, Pam spent her childhood in New Hyde Park. She graduated from Sewanhaka High School in 1971, beginning a lifelong journey of learning. Her academic pursuits led her to earn an Associate Degree from SUNY Farmingdale, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Oregon University—a testament to her dedication to personal growth.

For over two decades, Pam devoted herself as a counselor within the Juvenile Justice System in Josephine County. She was widely respected for her compassion, guidance, and unwavering commitment to helping young people navigate challenging circumstances, leaving a lasting impact on the youth she served and her community.

Pam’s zest for life shone through her many passions. An avid world traveler, she found joy in discovering new places and cultures. She took pride in her vibrant gardens and celebrated every holiday by decorating her yard and home. She also had a special talent for growing impressively large pumpkins – testament to her care and patience.

She is survived by her brother Randy Crothers (Anne), nephew Isaac Crothers (Andrea), niece Alisha Crothers Shaw (Robert), numerous close friends, and her cat, Will.

Pam leaves behind a legacy not only as a dedicated professional in youth counseling, but also as a deeply engaged gardener whose kindness and creativity touched everyone she met.

A celebration of Pam's life will be held Saturday, August 2nd, from 11am-1pm at Edgewater Christian Fellowship in Grants Pass.
