Oliver Ulysses Brown Jr

Oliver Ulysses Brown, Jr, age 71, of Selma, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 as a result of an automobile accident in Selma.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2400 Laurel Road, Cave Junction. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Oliver was born November 30, 1938 in LaGrange, Georgia to Oliver & Frances Brown. He graduated from Turner High School in Atlanta, Georgia and Yankton College in South Dakota. He later received his Master’s degree in education from Cal State University. Oliver worked as a health inspector for Los Angeles County for 28 years until his retirement.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Oliver enjoyed his ministry greatly. He helped many people with his personal interest in their quest for better spiritual and physical health.

He is survived by a cousin, Shirley Cox of LaGrange, Georgia and a nephew, Marquise Brown of Los Angeles.
