Norman Gerald Borresen, age 102, of Grants Pass, died December 14, 2025 at his home.
Norman was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Hans and Buni Borresen.
In 1942, he enlisted in the United State Navy. During World War II he served in the Pacific Theater. He was in Normandy, France in June 1944.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Norman traveled from Minnesota to California with his father and brothers. In 1951, he bought a house at Galice, Oregon and spent time both in his home in California and in Galice.
Norman worked as a real estate agent. He also worked with a railroad, starting out as a cabin boy and worked all the way up to being CEO with a railroad company. In addition, Norman worked for the federal government in the forest industry for many years.
Norman attended Edgewater Christian Fellowship.
His hobbies included golfing, gardening, working out, playing pool, karaoke, and going to his favorite restaurants. Norman was also an avid ping pong and chess player.
Norman is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many close friends.
A celebration of life with Navy funeral honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., January 9, 2026 at Cascades Independent Living fireside room on the second floor, 1357 Redwood Circle.
