Nadine Curry Ham, 89, of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 at the home of her daughter Pamela, surrounded by family and friends.
Nadine was born November 6, 1932 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Walter and Nellie (Garrison) Eells. At times during her life, she moved to various locations in Oregon, but always returned to her beloved home town. On December 20, 1952, Nadine married Bobbie Joe Curry of Indiana, her husband of 19 years and father of her four biological children. Nadine married her husband of nearly 31 years, William “Bill” Ham on February 12, 1975. During their years together, Bill and Nadine owned and operated two businesses, including adult foster care and a child development center.
Nadine was a lifetime member of the Followers of Christ Church and delighted in her church family. Throughout her life she received much love and appreciation for her service and devotion.
Nadine was an avid writer and poet. Her hobbies included interior design and landscaping, thrift store shopping, reading, dining out, and telling stories. During her later years, she compiled her lifetime of writing, including family history and life experiences. Nadine loved the Rogue River and lived in her little cottage on the river for 24 years where she enjoyed spending time with her friends and large family.
Nadine is remembered by her children: Lauralyn “Laurie” Lorenz-Glantz (Don) of Desert Edge, California; Pamela (Charles) Griggs of Grants Pass; Michael (Julia) Curry of Portland; Jeffery (Jacqueline) Curry of St. Helens; her gift-children: Steven (Marsha) Ham of Corvallis; Rhonda Ham of Bellevue, Washington; Megan Autry of Gig Harbor, Washington; and Christopher (Michelle) Ham of Corvallis. Nadine’s legacy and love lives on in her 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bobbie Joe Curry, husband William “Bill” Ham, gift-son Don Ham and gift-grandson Brandon Griggs, as well as 4 siblings; Leonard Eells, Alton Eells, Debra “Debbie” Eells Porter, and Dallas Eells.
Public viewing will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, April 15th, 2022 at Hull & Hull Chapel in Grants Pass, Oregon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16th, 2022 at the same location with the Followers of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Granite Hill Cemetery.
