Milton Scherpf, age 90, of Grants Pass, died December 25, 2023 at his home.

Milton was born December 7, 1933 in New York, New York to parents Milton and Lillian Scherpf. Milton married Jean Eliasen December 29, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York and together they had three children.

In 1956, he graduated from Penn State University with a degree in food science. He later received an MBA from Keller Institute of Business. From 1956 to 1958 Milton served in the United States Army, stationed in Chicago, Illinois, until his honorable discharge from the 5th Army headquarters in the G2 division under Colonel Ahee.

Milton worked for several companies including Sealtest Dairy, Kroger, Hawthorne Mellody and Quality Check’d dairy companies where he developed formulas for dairy products. Lastly, he provided quality control for dairy companies overseas in Columbia, Mexico, and China until he retired in 2000. At that time, he moved from DeKalb, Illinois to Grants Pass. While in Grants Pass the company asked him to come back as a consultant.

Milton loved spending time with his family, working in his yard, sailing and going to garage sales.

Milton was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church.

Milton is survived by his wife Jean Scherpf; two daughters Karin Lanahan and Kristin Clark; grandchildren Ashley Martell, Courtney Gordon, Katie Kosak, Josh Clark, Caryn Hake, Sarah Massey, and Jon Clark; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son John Scherpf in 1987.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., December 30, 2023 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 909 NE “A” St, Grants Pass, OR 97526. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
