Michael Allen Kotrba

January 11, 1942 — November 18, 2025

Michael Allen Kotrba, age 83, of Rogue River, died November 18, 2025 in Grants Pass.

Michael Allen Kotrba was born January 11th, 1942 to Ben and June Kotrba in Southgate, California and entered into heavenly rest on November 18th of this year. He is survived by his wife, Marva, two children David (Colleen) of Grants Pass and Deborah (Bill) of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, two step-children, Shannon (Sy) of Salem and Jeff Lyng of Issaquah, Washington, his sister Sally and good buddy and brother-in-law Joe Leczel, 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and various cousins scattered across the United States. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Casey Kotrba in 2020.

Mike attended the local schools in his neighborhood graduating from Bellflower High School in 1960. He was active in the Lakewood Ambassadors drum and bugle corp., enjoyed all aspects of outdoor activities… camping, hunting, fishing and racing dirt bikes in the desert. He followed his Dad in the sheet metal business through an apprentice program and worked with him at Supreme Sheet Metals, where his Dad was superintendent. His work there had him traveling all over… Nebraska, Alaska, etc. Mike and his Dad were widely known as the best sheet metal men in the valley.

He married and had two children. He was always active in the community he lived in. He coached and mentored young men in the JayCees program. He moved to Rogue River, Oregon as a single man, opened his own business, Supreme Metal Fabricators, in 1985 in Grants Pass, Oregon. He remarried and continued community involvement in various organizations… the Lions Club, the Elks and eventually President of the Rogue Valley Archers Association through the Sportsman’s Park in Merlin, Oregon.

He lost his second wife, Pat, after battling cancer. He married Marva in 2011. He was an avid hunter, took up motorcross again and joined AHRMA, the moose camper club. He and Marva enjoyed karaoke and hosting annual hobo parties for family and friends. Mike continued doing sheet metal work in later years as long as 2019. He was an active member/deacon of Grace Baptist Church in Rogue River. Mike was a great “encourager”. He loved his family, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, who referred to him as their “mountain grandpa” and his great-grandchildren. He will be missed.
