Maxine Lentini

September 30, 1932 -  September 7, 2025

Maxine Lentini, 92, went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2025.

Maxine was born in Glendale, California on September 30, 1932, to parents Clyde and Minnie Honer. She attended Long Beach city schools and Long Beach City College before joining the Navy in 1952. While stationed in Coronado, she met the love of her life, Tony Lentini. They were married in 1955 and lived in California, Washington, and Nevada before settling in Southern Oregon in 1971. They resided on Covered Bridge Road in Wimer for more than 40 years.

Tony and Maxine raised four children and were supportive of their children’s pursuits as well as being active in community organizations such as the Rogue River Chieftains booster club, Barnstormers, and Old Time Radio. They attended Rogue Valley Community Church for many years, and Maxine was the church secretary for several of those years. More recently they attended River Valley Church. Maxine also loved baseball, enjoyed baseball scorekeeping and training others in the scorekeeping art.

Maxine was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She loved Jesus, her family, and her country, and she was greatly loved in return. She had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor, and her family will especially miss her Max-isms.

Maxine is survived by daughters Carmela Harrison of Idaho and Jane (Larry) Willard of Grants Pass, sons Steve (Julie) Lentini of Spokane and Richard of Seattle, as well as 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Tony, son-in-law Duane, her parents and two sisters, Shirley and Sally.

Please share a memory of Maxine in her guestbook.
