Max C. Buffington Sr

Max C. Buffington Sr, age 90, of Merlin, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at his home.

A viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Max was born April 12, 1920 in Hugo to William & Dora Buffington. On March 9, 1939 in Grants Pass he married Maxine L. Kelley, who preceded him in death on April 2, 1979. For 21 years he worked for the State Highway Department. He lived in the Rogue Valley nearly all his life.

Max especially enjoyed hunting, camping, mushroom picking, and being out in the woods.

Survivors include his best friend and longtime companion, Roxie King of Merlin; a daughter, Roxine Mock and her husband Jim of Grants Pass; two sons, Max C. Buffington Jr and his wife, Jan of Milwaukie and Kenneth Buffington of Prospect; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
