Marcia Mae Williams

January 11, 1930 — November 12, 2023

Grants Pass

Marcia Mae Williams, age 93, of Grants Pass, died November 12, 2023 at Autumn House.

Marcia was born January 11, 1930 to Harland and Amy Holmes in Long Beach, California where she was raised.

Marcia married Eugene K. Williams and they bought a house together in a Los Angeles suburb. Eugene was a very loving and caring man who cherished Marcia dearly. Together they had two children. Marcia worked in a box factory until she and Eugene invested in the hotel business and traveled the entire western seaboard including Arizona. Marcia moved from Salem, Oregon to Grants Pass in 1987.

She was able to retire at an early age and loved to spend her time entertaining guests and was a spectacular cook. She also enjoyed angel decorations and traveling. Marcia’s mother, Amy, pioneered a method of sharing books and toys with children who were less fortunate. Her contributions led the US Government to incorporate this into an active government program for all US citizens. Dolls were the primary toy which influenced Marcia’s interest in them as a hobby.

Survivors include son Danny Kay Williams; brother Donald Holmes who lives in the Los Angeles area and is a songwriter; grandchildren Joshua Williams, Nikki Williams, Justin Williams, Laura Williams and Shawn Williams.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Eugene K. Williams; older brother Harland Holmes; and oldest son Larry Eugene Williams.
