Karol Maureen Huffman passed away on December 10, 2025 at the age of 81. She was a beloved wife and mother. She was born in Warren Pennsylvania on April 5, 1944, the only child of Virgil and Miriam Schultz.
She was raised by her mother after her father was killed in World War II when she was just 3 months old. She and her mother eventually settled in Medford Oregon, where Maureen went to school at Medford High School. After graduating from high school, she went to Southern Oregon University in Ashland Oregon and got her teaching degree. She married in 1964 and had two children, Jeff and Mark Wyatt. While raising her children, she worked as a teacher at area schools. In 1977, the family moved to Hermiston Oregon, where she continued teaching and raising her children. She eventually divorced but remained in Hermiston to raise her children until they graduated from High School. She went to work full-time as a pharmacy technician at a local drug store.
After her youngest child left for college, she moved back to southern Oregon, to be closer to her mother, settling in Grants Pass. It was during this time that she reacquainted with a long-time friend, Jim Huffman. They fell in love and married. Together they traveled frequently, seeing family and going to places as far away as Europe--visiting England and France. Visiting Normandy beach on the anniversary of D-Day was special to her, especially considering the loss of her father in World War II. One of their favorite trips, though, was the short drive to the Oregon coast at Brookings, which she and Jim did often. Her years with Jim were undoubtedly the most joyous of her life.
After Jim's passing in late 2020, her spirit was broken. She persisted and loved talking with family, especially about her grandkids, but her smile was never really the same. She loved trips to the coast, visiting with friends and family, and connecting with friends on computer trivia and arcade style games. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of family, and her love of the music of the band Air Supply.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jim Huffman, and her eldest son Jeff Wyatt. She is survived by her son Mark (Lisa) Wyatt, step-daughter Debbie Davis, grandchildren Ashley, Erik, Gavin, Ava and Corey Wyatt, Ryan Bell, Nichole and Shelbee Huffman, Jennah Davis, and great-grandson Theo Wyatt. Maureen and Jim's wishes were to have their ashes spread at the Oregon coast. This will be planned for early
