Judith Elizabeth Shrader Born 6/6/1939 Died 5/3/2025
Judith was born JUDITH ELIZABETH ARMSTRONG on June 6, 1939 in British Colombia, Canada. The family later moved to Prince Rupert BC where she grew up. He father, Norman Armstrong worked as a pipefitter for Canadian National Railroad. Her plan after high school was to be a nurse. In school she worked for a children’s store.
Bill met Judy on July 1, 1957 when his ship was visiting Prince Rupert to participate in their Dominium Day celebration. There went her plans! They celebrated for Three days and then spent one week together later in the year. Bill proposed by letter in-between and she accepted. The rest of the time they were both miles apart, Judy came down to Los Angeles in February of 1958 to get married.
Judy lived in the Philippines for four years, Alaska for three years and England for three years with short stays in Connecticut, New York, and Virginia in between. She was the mother of 5 kids: Karen, Terry, Pamela, Sherri, and William R. JR.
On of her great accomplishments was to be a teacher in learning how to swim for Marine Soldiers in the pool of Sangley Point Naval Station in the Philippines.
In the later years she enjoyed gardening, oil painting, and traveling. She was active in her church and travel club. She was active as a “Master Gardener.” She was also very active with family and her grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. on August 2, 2025 at
