Joanne Fredericks (Lehm)

May 1, 1937 — August 24, 2025

Joanne Fredericks (Lehm), age 88, of Grants Pass, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025. Born on May 1, 1937, in Los Angeles, California to Otto Lehm and Helen Reazor, she moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1947. Joanne's life journey led her to become a loving family member, a devoted mother, and a friend to many.

Joanne graduated from Grants Pass High in 1956, laying the groundwork for a life filled with meaningful work. She contributed 16 years to the Daily Courier Motor Route and spent an additional 11 years at Funky Towne Variety. In May 1997, she retired.

In April 1958, Joanne entered the U.S. Navy, where her commitment to service truly flourished. After her marriage to Howard Fredericks on June 4, 1960, she honorably discharged from military service. On October 1968 she moved to back to Grants Pass after shared travels during Howard’s service.

Joanne was not only defined by her work and military service; she embraced a variety of hobbies that brightened her life, particularly crafting and playing bingo, which brought her immense joy. Her creative spirit and engaging personality will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Joanne leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward. She is survived by her daughters, Evonne D. Llewellym, Rhonda M. Vieyra, and Tracy Castro; her son, Lawrence J. Fredericks; and her siblings, Daline E. Schirado, Gilda Saporito, and Richard C. Lehm.

As we reflect on Joanne’s life, we are reminded of her warmth, creativity, and unwavering resilience. She touched the lives of those around her and will be deeply missed.
