I’m sharing the obituary for our beloved James “Jim” Herbert Jones.

October 20, 1951 – September 7, 2026

James “Jim” Herbert Jones JR, age 74, passed away on September 7, 2026, in Cave Junction, Oregon.

Jim was born on October 20, 1951, to James and Martha Jones. He was also blessed to have his stepmother, Janie, as part of his life.

Jim lived a life centered around two things that meant everything to him: working hard and loving his family. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for the people he loved. His family was at the heart of everything he did, and he showed his love not only through words, but through the countless things he did for those around him.

Jim and his beloved wife, Linda “Musugin” Jones, shared 56 years of marriage. During those 56 years, their family grew in more ways than one. Linda’s family became Jim’s family, too. He welcomed them into his heart as his own, creating bonds that went far beyond simply being related by marriage. The love he had for Linda extended to her family, and they became an important part of his life and his story.

Over the years, Jim lived a little bit of everywhere. Wherever life took him, he made an impact. He met people, built relationships, and left memories behind. No matter where he lived, there were people who knew Jim, loved Jim, and would remember him.

When Jim wasn't working or spending time with family, one of his favorite hobbies was fishing. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time near the water, and the peace that came with casting a line and enjoying the moment.

Jim leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda “Musugin” Jones, and his three children, Terry Jones, Delena Jones, and Tonya Sullivan.

He was a proud grandfather to Amanda (Josh) Egner, Chantell Neff, Derek (Cassandra) Sullivan, Katlin (Bradley) Toombs, and Devon Jones.

Jim was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Devin Egner, Kayleigh “KayKay” Egner, Bentley “Bent” Toombs, Noah Egner, Blakelee “Buck” Toombs, Derek Sullivan II “Baby Derek,” Sophia “Fifi” Egner, Jaxxon Egner, Emma Sullivan, and Unity Jones.

Jim also leaves behind his surviving brothers, Rudy Harman (Shyril) and Craig Harman (Kelly), and best friend Mike "Frog" Suzie winbolt, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Each held a special place in his heart, and the memories they shared with Uncle Jim will be cherished for years to come.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Ruth Martin; his parents, James and Martha Jones; his brothers, Bobby Jones, Curtis Jones, and Jimmy Harman; his sister, Ruth Smith; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rudolph Harman and Della Harman.

Jim will be remembered as a hardworking man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family deeply, and in return, he was deeply loved.

He lived a life that wasn't defined by just one place. He lived a little bit everywhere, but wherever he went, he made an impact. His greatest journey, however, was the life he built with Linda and the family they created together.

Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, Jim's story does not end here. It continues through every child he raised, every grandchild and great-grandchild he loved, every niece and nephew he cherished, every family member who carries his memory, and every person whose life he touched.

Rest easy, Jim. Your work here is done.
Your family will carry your love, your memories, and your legacy with them always.
