Jesse Coleman Nelson, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A graveside service was held Friday, July 13, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Glen Chinn officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.
Jesse was born December 11, 1919 in Donna, Texas to John and Psyche Nelson. During World War II he served in the United States Navy on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Enterprise. In 1947 he moved from Texas to Grants Pass.
He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
He especially enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Nelson of Grants Pass; two sons, Glenn Edward Nelson of Grants Pass and Rodney T. Nelson of Maui, Hawaii; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
