Jean Nenninger Reich

Jean was born in Belsano, Pennsylvania on April 30, 1929 and passed on February 15, 2024 in Medford Oregon at the age of 94 years old.  

Jean spent the first part of her life in Pennsylvania.  She attended Lockhaven University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in teaching.   She met her husband Charles Miller Reich while attending college and they were married on August 29, 1953.    Jean lived in Pennsylvania until 1967 when the family moved to Eugene, Oregon.  She continued to live in Eugene with her husband until they relocated to Southern Oregon in 2015 to be closer to their children.  She is survived by her husband, three children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  

She worked as an elementary school teacher for most of her career enriching the minds of future generations.   Jean retired from the Eugene school district in 1992.  After retirement she would volunteer with her local church and with the organization “Meals on Wheels” to give back to the community.

Jean and Charles were avid campers.  They would travel in RV’s and take extended camping trips around Oregon and to other states.  They both enjoyed spending time outdoors.

Jean will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family.  May she rest in peace.
