Jean E. Land

Jean Land, age 90, of Grants Pass, died April 23, 2020 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.

Jean was born March 27, 1930 in Watertown, South Dakota to Roy & Laura Tift. She graduated from Culter Academy in Los Angeles, California and Cal State Fullerton with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education. She specialized in teaching reading and special education and was program director for special education students at Barbara Sterling School in Cerritos, California. She also taught at Garden Grove Christian School. From 1984 to 1999 she worked as church secretary for Community Bible Church in Santa Ana, California. In 1999 she moved from California to Grants Pass.

Jean married Robert “Bob” Land in September of 1953. They were married for 66 years before Bob passed away in January of this year.

Jean was a member of Grants Pass Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she served as church treasurer.

She especially enjoyed reading, camping, gardening, and traveling.

Survivors include daughters Susan Land and Deborah (Greg) Ladd; and her grandsons Stefan, Brandon and Jared all of Frisco, Texas.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., June 20, 2020 at Rivers of Life Foursquare Church in Grants Pass.
