James "Mike" Nelson

James “Mike” Nelson, age 70, of Grants Pass, died February 23, 2018 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Mike was born April 7, 1947 in Grants Pass to Darrell & Dorothy Nelson. He grew up in Grants Pass and attended Grants Pass High School. He was employed with Knife River Corporation in Medford.

Mike was a member of the Eagles Lodges.

He enjoyed motorcycle and quad riding.

Survivors include son, Craig Nelson of Merlin; daughter, Stephanie Aburto of Manson, Washington; one sister, Diane Nelson of Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and his loving girlfriend, Shirley Newton of Grants Pass.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Nelson; sisters, Kathy Viera and Sherry Nelson; and a brother, Gary Nelson.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Lake Selmac in Selma, Oregon. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
