Jacqueline "Jacki" Yablan

December 16, 1932 — June 3, 2025

Jacqueline "Jacki" Yablan, age 92 of Grants Pass died June 3, 2025 at Kinsington Place.

Jacqueline Yablan, affectionately known as "Jacki," graced the world with her vibrant presence from December 16, 1932, until her peaceful departure on June 3, 2025. Born in Hollywood, California, Jacki moved to Grants Pass, Oregon, in 1994, where she would cultivate a life rich in community, family, and passion.

After graduating from Hollywood High, Jacki embarked on a career as a dedicated owner-operator in the auto repair and maintenance industry, exemplifying her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. However, it was not only her professional endeavors that defined her; Jacki's true essence shone brilliantly in the warmth of her kitchen and the love she extended to her family and friends. Her culinary skills were adored by all, as she masterfully blended recipes with a heartfelt touch.

After meeting on a California beach, in a beautiful union, Jacki married her beloved spouse, Milton "Mickey" Yablan, on November 12, 1950, in California. Together -for nearly 70 years- they shared countless joyful moments until Mickey’s passing, leaving behind a legacy of love that continues to resonate within their family.

Jacki’s life was further enriched by her love for nature, particularly manifesting in her hobbies of gardening on her four acres nurturing her multiple fruit trees, vegetable garden and flowers as well as her devotion to birds. A member of the Bird Club, Jacki enjoyed spending time with her incredibly rare beloved Hyacinth Macaw "Sochi". This passion mirrored her zest for life itself—ever curious, always observing, and undoubtedly appreciating the beauty that surrounded her.

Jacki is survived by her daughters, Shelly Spear of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Sandra Buchanan of Thornton, Colorado. She also leaves behind three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, the proud beneficiaries of her nurturing spirit, love and shining example of being a hardworking woman who loved her husband dearly.

As we remember Jacki, we celebrate a life marked by warmth, kindness, and an abiding appreciation for both family and the wonders of the natural world. A private family celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date, allowing those who were touched by her to gather and reflect on the cherished memories they hold dear. Jacki will be profoundly missed, yet her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
