Helen Scott

Helen Scott, of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away on March 14, 2023, at her home. She was 87 years old.

She was born in Portland, Oregon, to Benjamin and Catherine Reed. She graduated from Catlin High School in Portland in 1953 and Wellesley College in Massachusetts, in 1957. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and worked as a chemist for OHSU and the Primate Center in Portland.

In 1962 she married Trenor Scott and they spent several years in Alaska, Idaho and Montana. In 1968 they moved to Grants Pass with their two children. She was an enthusiastic volunteer, a partner in a retail bookstore and a longtime member of the Josephine County Republican Women and Rogue Gateway Rotary groups. She also served as chair fir the Josephine County Republican Party.

She enjoyed horses, gardening, and fishing and was especially proud of her two grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Trenor Scott, daughter, Patricia Scott, son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Theodora Scott, Granddaughter, Madelyn Scott, Grandson-in-law, Jon Mulled and grandson, Griffin Scott.
