On Sept. 7, Greg Fairchild (age 46), passed away due to complications with COVID-19. It will be known as the day we lost a father, a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, our best friend.
Greg was born and raised in Grants Pass, OR. He was a 1993 graduate of Grants Pass High School. For the past 25 years, Greg worked in the area's construction industry.
Greg was known and loved by a large, extended family with roots in the Josephine County area over four generations. He is survived by his son, Tanner Fairchild, daughter Cailey Fairchild, mother Carmen Lira, father Monte Fairchild (Prineville, OR), step-father Rudy Lira, step-mother Lana Fairchild (Prineville), brother John and Shanan Fairchild (Grants Pass OR), grandfather Glenn Fairchild (Prineville), nephew and best friend Jacob Fairchild, nephew Kyle Fairchild, great nephew Hunter Fairchild, great niece Kennedy Fairchild and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins throughout Oregon and Washington.
Greg lived life to its fullest. His family was his highest priority, always finding an opportunity for family gatherings. Greg thoroughly enjoyed outdoors activities; fishing, hunting, camping, disc golf, dirt bikes, soccer. Greg was an huge fan of his chosen NFL team, the Miami Dolphins.
Greg is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William and Margaret Johnson.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, September 18, 4:00 pm at Tom Pearce Park, 3700 Pearce Park Rd., Grants Pass, OR, Shelter #1 . Please follow the family's facebook pages for more details.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up on behalf of Greg's children, Tanner and Cailey Fairchild, at any branch of Evergreen Federal Bank .
