Glenna Frances McCaslin

Aug 4, 1937 — Jun 2, 2026

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Glenna F. McCaslin of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with multiple health problems. Glenna was born on August 4, 1937, in a company town called Rock Creek, Tennessee to Fred and Fannie Williamson. She was the youngest and last remaining of 11 children and truly was the baby of the family. When Glenna was nine years old, the family left the company town and traveled by train to Glendale, Oregon. They joined there with other friends and family members who traveled to Glendale before them. It was there that she met Leland "Doyle" McCaslin who she would later marry in November of 1955. In their 70 years of marriage, they built a home together and raised a family, made various moves throughout the state of Oregon and even moved to Bowie, Maryland due to Doyle's career in education.

Doyle and Glenna raised three children, Eldon Kyle, Darcy Allyn and Cary DeeAnn. Raising children was the highlight of Glenna's life. Following the wonderful example by her own mother, she showered her family with that same deep love and devotion. Not only was she kind, patient and loving, she was also a solid source of strength and support to her immediate and extended family as well. Her presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her, and she touched countless lives through her caring heart and generous spirit.

In her early years, she returned to work outside of the home to manage Knudtson-Pike Jewelers in Canyonville, Oregon for nearly 10 years. Later, she served as assistant manager at Happy Notion's Jewelers in Hermiston, Oregon. In 1987, she pursued her dream of becoming a cosmetologist at Govan's School of Beauty in Kennewick, Washington. She retired after working at Fountain Plaza Retirement Center in Medford, Oregon where she used her talents not only to make others feel beautiful, but also to connect with and care for the people who sat in her chair. She had a special gift for making others feel seen, loved and valued. The relationships she built throughout her work history were deeply important to her and remained a treasured part of her life.

In later years, Glenna was blessed with four grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. She was always excited to see them and showered them with lots of hugs and kisses. Glenna made sure to spend as much time as possible with them playing, fishing, berry picking and she made a lasting, loving impression on all their lives.

Glenna enjoyed reading, gardening and occasional visits to the casino. She found great joy in hosting family gatherings, helping others and making music. She was a talented multi-instrumentalist and could sing beautifully, play guitar, banjo, mandolin and piano. As youngsters, she and her brother Shine Williamson played guitar and sang on a local radio show in Grants Pass, Oregon. Music was always an important part of family gatherings which made for cherished memories. Her love of music was one of the many many gifts that she passed down to her children, who continue to share that same passion and carry her musical spirit with them today.

Glenna is survived by her spouse, Leland "Doyle" McCaslin, three children Kyle (Mary) McCaslin, Darcy Roy and Cary (Mike) Stepper as well as her four grand children and eight great-grandchildren. Glenna was a bright light in this world, truly lighting up a room with her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. Though her family is deeply saddened by the loss, they find comfort in knowing she is now at peace-free from pain and reunited with those who went before her. Her love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of her family and those who were blessed to call her friend. We find comfort and peace in knowing we have the hope through Christ that we will see her again one day in Heaven.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, Hospice staff and loved ones who provided such loving support and compassionate care during her final months.
