Giuseppe "Joe" Cirina

Giuseppe “Joe” Cirina, age 88, of Grants Pass passed away September 15, 2022 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.

Joe was born May 1, 1934 to parents Sebastiano Cirina and Anna (Barbarino) Cirina in Augusta, Sicily, Italy. Joe was a row team medalist in the Italian Olympics, and served in the Italian Merchant Marines and the Italian Navy. In 1962 he moved to San Francisco and in 1966 he returned to Augusta, Sicily to marry Francesca Romeo and together they had two sons, David and Jesse Cirina. The couple divorced 1985.

Joe moved to Grants Pass in 1987 and he married Valentina and he adopted Valentina’s son Sergio Cirina. Valentina passed away in March 2009.

Joe loved gardening, cooking, fishing and entertaining friends and family with his authentic Italian cooking.

Joe is survived by his sons David Cirina, Jesse Cirina, and Sergio Cirina; sisters Melina and Sarafina; brother Dominic; four grandchildren Ashley, Alexander, Adrianna, and Natalie Cirina.

A visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2022 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2022 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass.

Joe will be truly missed by many friends and family.
