Ellen Marie Larsen

Our mother, Ellen Marie Larsen, passed away November 14, 2025 with her family close by.

Ellen was born to Victor and Esther in Hjorrine, Denmark in 1930. She studied nursing in Aalborg, Denmark and became a registered nurse. It was in Denmark that she met and married the love of her life, Eric B. Larsen in 1955. Shortly thereafter she traveled to America to be with Eric in Laguna Beach, California where she learned to speak English by watch “I Love Lucy” tv shows.

Eric and Ellen loved to travel the world to remote, far way places. In 1969 they packed up four kids and moved to Micronesia for a couple years where they lived on remote tiny islands and lived off the sea. Ellen loved being in villages helping the locals. Eric and Ellen traveled so much she always had her suitcase packed. In 1971 they moved to Oregon and in their later years, Eric built a home for them to live in Hawaii where they enjoyed watching the whales.

Ellen was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her children Carl (Terry), Sonja (John), Bjorn (Julie), and Solbritt (Jim); four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
