Edith (Edie) Anne Barron passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 25th, 2026, after a long battle with Vascular Dementia. The last few years she resided at Regency Care in Grants Pass. She had such a caring team of Nurses and staff. And Hospice Nurse Roberta was a wonderful blessing.
Edie was born on April 28th, 1937, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her family moved from Colorado to Oregon in 1947. Her parents, Marshall Halstead and Susie Halstead raised 4 children. Edie, Larry, James, and John.
Edie’s children are Shalee, Debbie, Leigh, and Marshall. She has 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great, Great Grandchild.
Edie had a home business as a Seamstress. She later became a schoolteacher in Josephine County. She helped create a teaching program for children with special needs.
Edie later headed the music program at Manzanita Elementary and Fort Vannoy Elementary. With her great love for music, she eventually taught piano in her home. She held recitals at a local Church.
Edie had many gifted students. She not only taught them music but became a mentor. Her students ranged in age from 7 to 55 years old.
Edie loved to read, watch old westerns, go to Oregon beaches, Bandon being her favorite, shop for clothing and special gifts. She loved spending time with her family.
She was involved in her Church and loved the Women’s Bible Studies.
She had a strong faith in Jesus and passed that on to her family and students. She was a bright light!
Edie’s family will have a Private Celebration of Her Life. She loved anything tie-dye.
That will be our theme to celebrate her!
She will be missed immensely. See you again Mom in Heaven!!
Please share a memory of Edie in her Guestbook.
