Dudley V. Thornton

Dudley V. Thornton flew West on January 13, 2015.

He was born in Portsmouth, England in 1940 to Frederick and Barbara Thornton. After WWII, his family relocated to Toronto, Canada. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force after High School. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U. S. Navy. He had an exciting and rewarding career as an International Airline Captain. Prior to retiring to Grants Pass, OR, he lived in Fairfax, CA.

Dudley is survived by his wife, Sandra, his children; Heather, Jessica, Avery and Peter, and his sister, Gerri Hansen. Dudley had an infectious enthusiasm for life and always had a smile for everyone.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Grants Pass Community Tennis Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Wounded Warrior Project.
