Douglas Alfred Morris

Douglas Alfred Morris, age 80, of O’Brien, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Morris was born October 30, 1930 in Miles City, Montana to Victor & Floy Morris. He worked for 40 years as a union printer. For many years he was a “tramp” printer, traveling all over the United States working on different newspapers from coast to coast until 1972. In 1973 he settled in Santa Rosa, California working for the Press Democrat newspaper until retiring in 1990 and moving to Oregon.

During his retirement, Mr. Morris filled his time with many interest and hobbies. He was always surrounded by his family and his beloved pets.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly Morris of O’Brien, Oregon; two daughters, Wendi Morris of Kerby, Oregon and Floy Morris of O’Brien, Oregon; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Victor “Ed” Morris and William “Bill” Morris.

A private celebration of life will be held at his home on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
