Debra Powers

Debra Powers, age 62, of Grants Pass, died peacefully March 17, 2019 at her home surrounded by all of her children.

Debra was born July 24, 1956 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Robert Delmar Powers & Rosemary Helen Morehouse Powers. Later in life she earned an Associate of Arts degree, the first in her family, from RCC.

She prioritized being a mother serving as a therapist, motivator, counsel, and friend for her children. She also took pleasure in taking an assortment of flowers from the wilderness, tending a flourishing, lively garden outside her home. Her heart overflowed for animals, including the rescue of dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, and rabbits; her tender care always ended helping them regain their health through her profound compassion and patience.

Debra is survived by four children, Bethany Champney Bickham (Jeff), Michael Champney, Canaan Powers and Colin Powers; sister Robin Violette; brother Robert Powers; and grandchildren Emily Rose, Isaiah, Haiden, Ethan, Isabella, Sophia, Chloe Belle and James Rockwell “Rocky”.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., March 25, 2019 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Memorial contributions may be made to Oregon Energy Assistance fund which helped our family many times. https://www.ucancap.org/
