Deanna Sharp Pratt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 71 in Grants Pass, Oregon, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Tooele, Utah, to Weston John Sharp and June Sagers Sharp, Deanna lived a life rich in love, creativity, and service. She spent her childhood in Utah and spent time in Vernon, Salt Lake City, Kearns, Granger, and Murray before making her home in Oregon—first in Gresham, then Rogue River, and finally Grants Pass.
Deanna attended Brigham Young University, where she met her eternal companion, Craig Pratt. They were married for 47 years and built a beautiful life together, raising four children while nurturing countless others through her passion for dance and teaching.
A gifted choreographer and teacher, Deanna founded the dance team at Rogue River High School and shared her talents as a Creative Movement instructor at All That Jazz, where she worked with children ages 3 to 8. She also served as director of Kids Company, a competitive dance team for elementary-aged children, inspiring young dancers with her patience, creativity, and joyful energy.
Deanna was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Mirabel. She is survived by her devoted husband, Craig; her siblings Shannon (Bob) Fowler of Fruit Heights, UT; Jeff (Janet) Sharp of West Jordan, UT; Shelley (John) Watkins of Orem, UT; Monte (Deanne) Sharp of Grants Pass; and Brett (Barb) Sharp of Grants Pass. She is also survived by her children Parker (Deborah) of Grants Pass; Justin (Jenni) of Taylorsville, UT; Trevor of Grants Pass; and Haylee (Xeric) of Grants Pass; along with ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. All of them were the joy of her life.
Deanna will be remembered for her boundless creativity, her deep love for her family, and the joyful mark she left on every life she touched. Deanna was known for her story telling and talkative nature. She was a light to everyone she met. She could make anyone feel loved just by talking to them and sharing stories from her life. Her legacy dances on in the hearts of all who knew her.
