David Charles Huston, age 59, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Providence Medford Medical Center.
A viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mark Skudstad officiating.
A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Murphy Outback Youth Ministries with Pastor Mark Skudstad officiating. A potluck meal will follow.
Remembrances may be made to Multiple Sclerosis.
David was born April 19, 1954 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Carl & Ernestine (Miller) Huston and lived in Grants Pass all his life. During high school he was floor manager at the Grants Pass Rollerdome. In 1972 after graduating from Grants Pass High School he joined the Oregon National Guard and served for six years. On September 9, 1978 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada he married Mary Webb and they later divorced. He worked for Josephine County Public Works as a heavy equipment operator for seven years until 1984 when he retired after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He was a resident of The Suites.
David was a member of the 4-H Wilderville Beef Club and HASL (Handicap Awareness Support League).
His hobbies included fishing, water-skiing, working on motorcycles, and camping. He enjoyed a good meal.
Survivors include a daughter, Cassandra “Casey” Webb Huston of Rogue River, Oregon; a son, Andrew Webb Huston of Grants Pass, Oregon; his father, Carl Huston of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, Nancy Nelson of Grants Pass, Oregon; and a brother, Michael Huston of Omak, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda White in 2009 and his mother, Ernestine Huston in 2012.
