Daniel Michael Gomez

November 16, 1947 — April 3, 2024

Daniel M. Gomez, born November 16, 1947 in San Pedro, California; died April 3, 2024 in Grants Pass, Oregon. The sun has set on the life of a well loved friend, neighbor, husband and father. Dan Gomez of Azalea, Oregon, finally lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia which he had fought so hard against. Friends of Dan knew him as a compassionate man whose great joy was to make those around him relax and have a good laugh. A regular Mad Hatter at the Wolf Creek Easter Parade, Dan was an Emmy award winning television producer, and segment director for the TV series Real People and Unsolved Mysteries, as well as an accomplished camera man, editor and script writer. After leaving the television industry, he and his family relocated to Southern Oregon where he enjoyed a stint with KOBI-TV before using his great people skills selling real estate.  He enjoyed retirement at his beautiful property in Azalea where he could often be found riding his tractor and managing his forest. He loved bonsai, quarter horses, Bigfoot and teasing his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all.

Survived by his wife Virginia; sons Rand (Joann), Matthew; daughters Jeanna (Austin), Charity; brother David (Hilary); sister Carmen (Donna); grandchildren Ashley, Brittney and Callie; nieces Lauren, Jillian and Bonnie; nephews Zachary, Sam, and Jack. Proceeded in death by his sister Caroline, daughter Christiane, grandson Parker and parents Frank I. and Jessie C. Gomez. Celebration of life to be held in Azalea, Oregon in August.
