Clarke Preston Miller

July 26, 1951 — August 11, 2021

Clarke Preston Miller, a resident of Selma Oregon since 1992, passed away at the fresh age of 70 years young peacefully in his home on August 11th 2021.

One of five children, he was born in Honolulu Hawaii in 1951. The family moved to Oregon in 1960, where Clarke enjoyed his childhood. He found his way back to Hawaii after high school and studied psychology and restaurant management at Honolulu Community College. While in Hawaii Clarke began working in construction with his Uncle Willie, then ventured into food service, as a chef in Honolulu and also on Maui. Clarke couldn’t stay away from the great outdoors Southern Oregon has to offer and returned to the area in 1981, where he began to reconnect with his roots. Upon his return to Oregon he began a career in wholesale meat and seafood distribution with Pacific Seafood Company, retiring in December 2020 after 35+ years.

In addition to the culinary talents he perfected, Clarke was an avid outdoorsman and had a keen interest in the preservation of wildlife and all natural habitats. He spent many years hiking, fishing, camping, horseback riding and hunting.
Clarke is survived by his Uncle Willie, son Brad, daughter Kaleen, five grandchildren - including the most recent granddaughter Lolade, sister Noilani, and brother Warren.

Clarke was a genuine, kind, hardworking and giving soul and will be sorely missed by his family and the many, many friends he made in his life journey.

A memorial service for Clarke will be held at the Wild River Brewing & Pizza Co. in Grants Pass, Oregon on September 18th at 1:30 PM.
