Christopher Scott Burman, age 58, of Rogue River, died November 17, 2025 at his home.

Christopher Scott Burman ~

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected, peaceful passing of Christopher S. Burman; he was 58 years old when he left us, on November 17th. Chris was born in Illinois, but came to call Rogue River home when he moved at a young age with his parents, William “Bill”, Alice “Sye” Burman, and brother, Jeff Burman. Many may know his father Bill, who owned Burman’s Custom Saddlery on RR Hwy.

Known to some as just “Burman” or “Reed”, Chris was an avid sports fan who enjoyed baseball, football, and golf. His ambitions led him to tryout for the Oakland A’s triple-A team, but were cut short due to a shoulder injury. However, he continued to demonstrate his love of sports by coaching both baseball and football for his children. He also held a passion for the outdoors - anything that involved hunting, fishing, camping or riding dirt-bikes. On weekends, you could find him BBQing on the porch with his family, as he enjoyed making wholesome meals for all to share.

Professionally, Chris was a logger at heart and enjoyed falling trees. In keeping with his roots, he always ensured firewood was well-stocked before winter. He worked in the industry until moving on to work for Sawyer Paddles and then finding his niche as an industrial mechanic where he transitioned to environmental health and safety and served admirably for nearly 20 years with his final employer.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia, of 15 years and 4 sons: Chris Jr, Rogue, Buc and Chase; 3 granddaughters: Amelia, Presley and Nova; and his brother, Jeff. We cannot forget his spoiled frenchies… Chloe and Wiggles - the “daughters he never had”.

A casual Celebration of Life/gathering is planned for December 13 from 11am - 3pm at Rogue Pub-N-Putt. Feel free to stop by to say hello and reminisce with family and friends as we bid farewell to the life Chris led. If you choose to visit and bring something to share, the family asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation to help with basic necessities is appreciated; a GoFundMe account has been arranged to support this.

Chris worked hard and played harder; a life well-lived.

Please share a memory of Christopher in his guestbook.
