Cecil Dale Harrell, age 87, of Grants Pass, died May 7, 2025 at a licensed residential care facility.
Cecil “Cec” Dale Harrell sadly passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Cec was retired from the Port of Seattle, and became a long-time resident of Grants Pass. A member of the local Eagles Auxiliary (Aerie #2146), Cec held positions as President (twice) and several other key positions during her 20+ years with the Eagles. In relating her wishes for an obituary upon her passing to family members, she demonstrated her sense of humor by summing up her life:
Had two not-so-hot brothers. I could beat the youngest one up until I was about 13 and then got breasts. Married at 17 years of age. Poor husband. I didn’t even know how to boil an egg! Divorced that guy and married another—still didn’t know how to boil an egg. Had a kid—she lived on rice until she was 11 years old. Then it was neck bones and rice for the next two years. Had several boyfriends through the years. Good thing—no ax murderers among them. Had another kid. The “Terrible Twos” dragged out until about the “Terrible Twenties”; but, my son was the light of my life. Somewhere between 2 and 4 my daughter turned into a very lovely daughter, whom I just love to death. Perk is—she married a wonderful son-in-law. Along the way, had some crazy friends, but good ones. Good part is, they don’t know anything more than I do!” THE END--Hah! She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Mastowski (Richard), and her son, Ryan O’Rear.
Please share a memory of Cecil in her Guestbook.
