Carol Ann Schram

July 11, 1945 — December 27, 2025

Carol Ann Schram, age 80, of Grants Pass, Oregon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2025. After a life marked by faith, devotion, and quiet strength, she entered her eternal rest with Jesus.

Carol was born on July 11, 1945, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the only child of Elmer and Agnes St. Marie. Carol lived a life of service. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, California, caring for patients and also newborns in the nursery.

Carol met the love of her life, Bryan Schram, in Whittier, California in 1971, and they were married the following spring in May 1972. They shared 53 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. In 1983, they made the bold decision to move their family from Southern California to Oregon, pioneering a new chapter that included starting a family-owned business, Oregon Valley Sign and Monument Co., in Rogue River, and homeschooling their children at a time when it was still uncommon. The sign company became a 35-year part of the community, where Carol contributed her artistic skill as a sign painter from 1983 to 2018.

Carol was a devoted wife and mother, raising two children, Daniel Schram and Jill Rudzek. Family was her greatest joy! She was never happier than when everyone was gathered together. She was also well loved by her five grandsons and one granddaughter, who fondly remember her as the best Nana.

Above all else, Carol’s faith in Christ was central to her life. She lived simply with an unmistakable presence. She was selfless, thoughtful, and steadfast. She made people feel loved, valued, and seen. Whether preparing a meal, planning a celebration, or creating a special craft, Carol found joy in blessing others and always giving of herself. She enjoyed crafting, puzzles, making fancy appetizers and treats, and reading, but her greatest fulfillment came from loving her family well.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Agnes St. Marie, and her eldest son, Scott Schram.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan Schram; her son Daniel Schram and his wife Renda, and their three children of Eagle Point, Oregon; and her daughter Jill Rudzek and her husband Josh, and their three children of Kuna, Idaho. We honor and give thanks for Carol’s life, her example, and the lasting impact of her love on our family.
