Carla Lynn Carter

Carla Lynn Carter, age 63, passed away peacefully in her home on June 7th 2023.

Carla was born August 9th, 1959 in Springfield, Oregon to Dwane and Mary Stevens. On August 31st, 1990, Carla married the love of her life, Don Carter. They made a home and raised their family in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Carla enjoyed time on the Rogue River, going on many road trips and adventures. Carla was an extremely active participant in her Children's school and sports activities, and was so giving of herself and her time whenever she was needed. Carla especially loved having quality girl time with her friends where they would take trips, go on winery tours, do craft projects and laugh until their bellies hurt. Carla lived for her children and two grandsons. There was nothing that she wouldn't do for them.

Carla loved her career as a Student Career and College Counselor at Hidden Valley High School where she touched thousands of students as she helped them prepare for College or a Trade after high school. She lovingly guided them and helped to prepare them for their futures, which suited her servant heart perfectly.

Her life was a living example of one of the quotes she had written. Carla wrote " Success is not a destination, it is the quality of the journey you take through life. You will experience failure. It is how you choose to live life at this time that defines success."

Carla is Survived by her loving husband Don, daughter Danielle, sons Zack and Casey, grandsons Nevin and Barrett, father Dwane, sister Brenda and brother-in-law Dan, many nieces and nephews, and too many friends to count. All of them she loved and touched deeply.
