Billie Milton

Billie (Bill) Leroy Milton 

10/5/1932 – 12/20/2023 

On the morning of December 20, 2023, Bill passed away of natural causes at his home in Rogue River, OR surrounded by his three children.  Bill was 91 years old. 

Bill was born October 5, 1932, in Rogue River, OR to the late H. Elmer and Grace Milton.  He attended Rogue River High School and after graduation enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1951 – 1954, attaining the rank of Corporal.  During his service, he was stationed in Korea where he was a lineman and mechanic.  Upon his return home, he assumed a position in the family logging business, H. Elmer Milton Logging. 

Bill was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, especially with his grandchildren at the family cabin in NE Oregon, fishing, target shooting, and explored drives in the woods exploring.  He even owned a gold mine for a period.  He was a quiet and reserved man, but he was also very funny and had a quick wit, known for his dry and well-timed sarcastic responses.  He loved history and books, spending hours in his favorite chair reading by his beloved fire.  Upon retirement Bill found joy in spending time with his family and friends; he appreciated spending summers and holidays with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a daily breakfast ritual with a great group of friends, first at the Wimer Way Cafe and then at Bee Gees Diner in Rogue River. 

Bill is survived by his three children, Craig & wife Jane, Mark, and Sandie; grandchildren, Cameron, Zachary, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Afton, Calvin, Logan, and Preslee. 

We would like to especially thank Russ Boat for his friendship, support, and devotion to Bill and his first cousin once removed Stacee Pizzuto for her love, support, and care. 

Service to be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, 1/20/2024 at Evans Valley Bible Church 7924 E Evans Creek Rd, Rogue River, OR 97537
