Beverly Arleen (Beeghley) Wellington

March 22, 1937 – August 4, 2026

Beverly Arleen (Beeghley) Wellington was born March 22, 1937, in Lynwood, Los Angeles, CA. Her parents were Paul Richard Beeghley and Margaret Maxine Taylor. She attended Abraham Lincoln Elementary School and Lynwood High School. She had one sister, Velma Diane Beeghley.

On May 3, 1953, she married Raul Gilbert Guerra. They had four children: Ronald, Cathy, Kenneth and Vincent. They lived in Long Beach, CA and divorced 1969.

On March 12, 1971, Bev married Robert Joseph Mulhern, and the family moved to Grants Pass, OR. Here they settled on a twenty-acre farm in the New Hope area. In January 1974, the farm was flooded and three weeks later their home burned down. The community helped them rebuild.

Robert was active on the Josephine County School Board and Bev worked for the school district in the “Just Around the Corner” with Chucko the Clown project creating a daily video program for preschool children. She later worked in the Children's Department of the Josephine County Library doing many library class visits for elementary children. Robert died in January 1984, after which Bev went on to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Roanoke, Virginia Mission for one year.

On November 8, 1986, Bev married Laurence Arthur Lee and moved to Roseburg, OR. She loved his four children: Sterling, Wendell, Cindy and Susan, but the marriage dissolved on July 5, 1996. Bev at this time was employed as the Young Adult librarian for the Douglas County Library System; a job she loved very much.

On May 26, 1998, she married Gerald Wayne Wellington, the love of her life. They were married for 27 years when Gerry died on May 20, 2025, six days short of his 94th birthday. Together, they served two missions. First, they served a military mission for the Church at Fort Bliss, TX. Their duty was to serve military personnel, conduct church services, and visit military families. Bev made hundreds of cookies for their pleasure. They returned home and served a second local mission in the Sutherlin Ward, of the Roseburg OR Stake, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They met many wonderful people and loved their work there. In December 2012, they moved to Grants Pass, OR to be closer to Bev’s children.

Bev’s parents and sister preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Jeene) Guerra, of Mesquite, NV; Cathy (David) Fogelquist, of Grants Pass, OR; Kenneth (Joanna) Guerra, of Hugo, OR; and Vincent (Cindy) Guerra, of Medford, OR. Four step-children, Pam Thorson, of Spokane, WA; Brenda Scot, of Washington; Donna Wellington of Portland, OR; and James (Janis) Wellington, of Colorado Springs, CO; sixteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with many step-grandchildren. She is survived by one niece, Cary Winters, of Eugene, OR; and by four cousins, Robin Mann, of Colorado, CO, Mike Taylor, of Aumsville, OR, Bob Beeghley, Riverside, CA, and Debbie Paper, of ID. She loved them all.

Bev was noted for her years of work doing family history and was the director of two Family History Centers, operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved finding her ancestors and assisting others in finding theirs.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11 am, at the Savage Street Ward building, located at 747 NE Savage Street, Grants Pass, OR.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, 612 NW A Street (enter through red door facing Kinney Street).
