Bettye Jean Ashwill

Bettye Jean Ashwill, age 83, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

No services are planned. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Bettye was born March 2, 1926 in Multnomah County, Oregon to Walter & Christine Gildner. On June 15, 1946 in Portland she married Roy “Glenn” Ashwill, who preceded her in death on July 9, 1996. For 18 years she lived in Anchorage, Alaska. In 1984 she moved from San Diego, California to Grants Pass and later moved to Rogue River. For many years she worked as an airline ticket agent.

She especially enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Ashwill of Clarkston, Washington and Gregg Ashwill of Anchorage, Alaska; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
