Betty Spargur

November 12, 1926 — May 9, 2009

Betty Spargur passed away at her Medford home suddenly last Saturday morning after a rich and joyful life of 82 years. Born Betty Lou Perry in Mt. Sterling Illinois, she grew up in Hollywood, CA as a little girl and later moved to Ogden, UT after marrying. She and her family returned to Southern California in 1954. In 1989, she made her last move and came to Medford. Although likely “manufactured on a Monday” with physical challenges her entire adult life, Betty unfailingly looked forward, unfailingly thought of others first, and never ever complained. Her biggest joy was to be in the company of others. A tireless card player and incurable socializer she never ran out of energy. If her many friends came together to pick one word to sum up her life, “inspirational” might just about cover it. Betty did not just live each day, she celebrated every moment. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Don, Betty is survived by her daughter Debbie, son Perry, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and a terrific group of neighbors, friends and loving relatives. She lived with a blessed spirit and will be missed by all.
Friday May 15th 2:00pm there will be a private internment which may be witnessed from a distance (Eagle Point National Cemetery).
Those wishing to, may make a contribution to the Arthritis Foundation.
