Bernard M Falkowski

Bernard Michael Falkowski, age 79, of Grants Pass, died January 8, 2023.

Bernie was born July 14, 1943 in Bayonne, New Jersey to Bernard J. and Genevieve Falkowski. He earned a Bachelors degree from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. In 1967 he enlisted in the United States Navy as an officer. He was part of the Naval special warfare group Beach Jumpers, unit one. He served on the USS Anchorage in 1970, landing in Da Nang Vietnam to pick up 300 Marines. He received the Vietnam service medal with one bronze star attached. In 1981 he moved to Selma.

Bernie enjoyed gold mining, firefighting, and being in his unit serving in the Merlin National Guard for 22 years. His last tour was in 2002 serving in the Sinai as a peacekeeper.

He is survived by his twin brother Joseph P. Falkowski; two sisters Terry Letsch and Joann Byron and cousin Arlene Buklarevich 

A committal service with military honors will be at 10:00 a.m., January 20, 2023 at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
