Barbara A. Murphy

Barbara A. Murphy, age 79, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.

A viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Barbara was born October 2, 1932 in San Bernardino, California to Chester & Nellie Burbee. She received an associate’s degree in medical records and worked as a medical record technician at San Bernardino County Hospital. After her retirement she moved from San Bernardino to Grants Pass to be close to family.

Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include four children, Kathleen, Mary, and Laura all of Grants Pass, Oregon and James of California; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Orin Murphy; her parents; a sister, Meredith; and two brothers, Jack and Al.
